Our old-style construction uses hardwood dowel pinned mortise & tenon joints that offer both strength and reparability.  This assembly method has been used over the ages, it is strong, time-tested and serviceable over generations.

Galveston Wood Windows offers made-to-order, historically authentic, window sashes and frames.  Our sashes are old-style new wood construction and faithful reproductions for the architectural period of many of Galveston’s historic houses (circa 1839 to 1935).  These sashes are built using long established traditional joinery that has proven itself through the test of time in our challenging and severe Galveston climate (hot, humid, salt air, baking sun).

When it comes to historic buildings getting the details right is critically important for achieving authenticity and long- term durability.  In true restoration work the windows play an essential role.  The windows are one of the main character-defining features of historic buildings.  Not only does our work at Galveston Wood Windows look inwardly and outwardly exactly as the originals, they are also crafted using the same quality construction details that have been proven to last.

“When it comes to window work on Galveston Island’s historic buildings, old-style techniques are more suitable & sustainable than any modern innovation”
