Window Sash & Frames
Made-to-Order historically accurate wood window sashes and frames for Galveston houses and buildings. Galveston Wood Windows can replicate whole window units (frame and sashes) that exactly match your existing windows. We also can match your original sash. This means that if you are just missing one sash in a window there is no need to replace the entire window; we can make a single sash for you. Or if you have an old sash that has some damaged parts (stiles, rails, sash bar, muntins) they may be repairable, just ask. We can custom repair your wood windows, or if they are beyond repair, we can mill up a replacement. We can also help you replace aluminum, vinyl, composite and plastic windows with historically correct wood windows for your building.

Weather-stripping
To increase thermal efficiency, we can add spring brass weather-stripping to the sides and felt stripping to the top and bottom of the sashes.
Moldings and Siding
We have the ability to replicate any interior or exterior millwork moldings and siding to restore and maintain the architectural integrity of your historic home. Whether you need one length or enough to cover the whole house, we can run it for you. We can also create porch rails, caps and any exterior details to match what currently exists or if needed, recreate original details that no longer exist.
Glazing, Priming and Painting
Whether you need it in raw unfinished wood, primed, primed/painted or primed/painted/glazed we can do it. We recommend an oil-based primer with two top coats of a quality latex based paint. We glaze by bedding the glass in a small bead of high performance sealant caulk in the rabbet and securing the glass with small glazing points and then glazing with Sarco MultiGlaze Type M glazing putty. Setting the glass in sealant prevents rattling in the wind and keeps the sash watertight for the life of the window. This technique also allows for easy removal of the glass if it is ever broken.
